Category: Life — kevin @ 8:31 pm

The last load of firewood is in. I don’t mind working in the wood pile, good clean fun! I sure do miss the kids though. Cost this year: $550 for the wood, $434 for a new saw, $82 for a splitter, about $15 for gas- Total $1081 for a little more than 6 cords. Plus the 26 hours it took Patti and I to cut, split and stack.
Now we are ready for Winter!

Last day……

Category: Life — kevin @ 9:11 am

Today is our last full day here. Our routine has become pretty much set in this short week. Get up, go for a long walk on the beach, come back and have a latte or 2. Then, finally we can relax. Rosco will have a hard time adjusting.

Our morning walk on the beach …

Category: Fun Stuff — Patti @ 11:06 am
We are enjoying our morning walks on the beach.  There is nothing like the sound of the waves first thing in the morning, and the sand under your feet.
Today was the first rainy day we’ve had this week!  We didn’t seem to notice the rain until we turned around to walk back to the beach house!  Here we are … a little damp!!
Love this life !

Yesterday

Category: Life — kevin @ 1:00 pm

Technical difficulties prevented me from making yesterday’s post so I’ll include 2 pictures today. We drove down to Hatteras Light. The beach there is beautiful although the water is colder there. Rosco had a good time. The second picture is of the Sound side sunset a couple of roads down from us. No one is renting the houses, so we can walk right out to the water.

One of the best things about coming to the Outer Banks in the Fall is that we don’t need to get up until 6:30 to see the sunrise!!
Stayed tuned for a picture of the day.
